From Available Information to a Controlled Definition
Winworth provides drawing support for custom industrial components manufactured to buyer requirements. The starting information may include a released drawing, legacy print, 3D model, sample, field sketch, equipment manual, photographs, or measured data from an existing part.
The purpose is to identify what is known, what is missing, and what must be approved before quotation or production. A familiar component name is not enough because mounting faces, datums, passages, holes, fits, wear allowances, connections, and adjacent equipment can differ between installations.
Drawing and Interface Review
The review may cover drawing number and revision, units, overall and interface dimensions, datums, tolerances, geometric controls, surface requirements, material designation and condition, heat treatment, welds or joints, coatings, cooling passages, connection details, identification, and required inspection records.
For replacement components, provide the equipment model, installation position, photographs of the assembly, condition of the removed part, mating dimensions, and any approved field changes. Measurements from a worn or distorted sample must be identified as measured evidence rather than automatically treated as the original design.
Clarification and Approval Boundary
Winworth records technical questions and may prepare marked-up information, manufacturing drawings, or drawings for confirmation when included in the agreed scope. Production proceeds from the approved revision and order requirements.
Drawing support does not transfer design authority to Winworth and does not independently validate the complete machine, process, structure, pressure system, electrical system, cooling-system capacity, controls, safeguarding, or regulatory compliance. The buyer and responsible engineering parties approve functional requirements, design loads, material suitability, interfaces, and any change from the original design.
Information to Include with an RFQ
Provide the latest drawing or model, revision status, equipment and component position, material requirement, quantity, operating context relevant to the part, critical interfaces, inspection and documentation requirements, packaging, destination, and requested schedule. If information is incomplete, identify which dimensions are fixed, which may be proposed, and who has approval authority.
Clear input control reduces avoidable clarification cycles and gives quotation, manufacturing, and inspection teams the same component definition. It does not remove the need for buyer approval and does not guarantee fit where the supplied interface information is incomplete or inaccurate.
