Copper Components for Ferroalloy Smelting Furnaces

Drawing-based copper components for ferroalloy smelting equipment, matched to furnace type, electrode arrangement, current path, cooling, interfaces, and inspection.

Industry Scope

Winworth manufactures drawing-based copper and copper-alloy components for selected positions in ferroalloy smelting furnaces, electrode columns, high-current connections, and furnace cooling systems. The industry page routes inquiries to existing application and product families; it does not define a standard furnace package.

Ferroalloy equipment may process chrome, manganese, silicon, nickel, titanium-bearing, slag, residue, or other buyer-defined feed. Furnace configuration depends on process, raw material, reductant, alloy target, electrical arrangement, gas handling, tapping, refractory, cooling, and plant integration. Open, semi-closed, closed, AC SAF, DC, and specialty electric smelters require separate review.

Application and Product Routing

Submerged Arc Furnace covers drawing-defined copper components in the furnace current path and related mechanical interfaces. Typical routing categories include contact shoes, pressure rings, water-cooled power cables or bus connections, clamps, connection blocks, and selected cooling parts. They are not a universal SAF kit.

Electrode System focuses on the complete interface context around electrode movement, slipping, regulation, current transfer, contact pressure, cooling, insulation, support, and maintenance. Winworth's product scope remains the specifically ordered copper component or assembly, not the complete hydraulic, control, slipping, structural, or automation system.

Furnace Cooling System links to the E3-05 shared application for cooling elements, circuits, monitoring interfaces, and system boundaries. Ferroalloy and lead/zinc furnaces may share cooling-component categories without sharing geometry, heat load, water network, or operating procedure.

Engineering and Quality Review

Provide alloy and process route, furnace type and maker, AC or DC arrangement, electrode number and type, component position, drawing revision, exact supply boundary, electrical inputs supplied by the buyer, contact and pressure arrangement, material and condition, cooling circuits, insulation, supports, mating parts, movement, tolerances, maintenance method, and failure observations.

Inspection may include material verification, dimensions and datums, contact-face geometry, segment match, bore and hole pattern, cooling-passage mapping, joints and closures, specified NDT, pressure or leakage testing, circuit separation, fit and trial assembly, hardness or conductivity when ordered, surface condition, cleanliness, and document review.

RFQ Information

Provide furnace and electrode-system drawings, process and alloy, equipment model, electrode and power arrangement, ordered component and scope, material specification, current-path and pressure data supplied by the buyer, cooling map, insulation and mechanical interfaces, tolerances, NDT and tests, quantity, records, packaging, lifting, destination, and requested delivery schedule.
