Process and Equipment Definition
Provide process licensor or owner terminology, process flow context, equipment tag, function, feed and product media, composition and impurities, phase, temperature and pressure envelope, flow or circulation, solids, erosive particles, thermal cycles, oxidation or reducing conditions, corrosion assessment, refractory or lining, cooling concept, and maintenance history.
The same word can identify different equipment across plants. A gasifier is not automatically a fired heater, a pyrolysis furnace is not automatically a reformer, and a thermal reactor is not automatically a pressure vessel of the same design. Confirm whether the requested item belongs to the pressure boundary, refractory support, burner zone, cooling interface, feed or discharge path, piping, valve, instrumentation connection, structure, or replaceable internal.
Component and System Boundary
Winworth's component scope does not include the process design, complete furnace or reactor, pressure vessel, complete piping system, complete valve, combustion system, refractory system, burner management, controls, instrumentation, relief system, interlocks, emissions compliance, plant safety case, installation, commissioning, or operating procedure unless expressly included in the purchase order.
The owner and responsible engineering parties retain design authority for process conditions, materials selection, pressure design, corrosion allowance, refractory, combustion, cooling-system capacity, joining, code compliance, inspection class, functional testing, safeguarding, and fitness for service.
Engineering, Inspection, and RFQ Information
Provide part and assembly drawings with revisions, equipment tag and position, component function, design code when applicable, material standard and exact designation, condition, dimensions and datums, tolerances, welds or joints, interfaces, coatings or linings, heat treatment, NDT, pressure or leakage tests, material records, traceability, quantity, packaging, destination, and requested schedule.
Inspection may include material identification and certificates, chemistry or properties when ordered, dimensions and datums, geometric tolerances, surface condition, weld and joint records, specified NDT, passage mapping, pressure or leakage testing, coating or lining checks, trial fit, marking, and document review.
No corrosion rate, pressure rating, furnace duty, heat flux, cooling capacity, emissions level, process yield, availability, maintenance interval, or service life is guaranteed by supplying an individual component.
