Industry Scope
Winworth manufactures drawing-based copper and copper-alloy components for selected positions in aluminum melting, holding, casting, cast-rolling, and rolling equipment. The industry route connects related applications, but every inquiry must identify the actual equipment process and component position before a product family is selected.
The ordered part may provide a cooling, heat-transfer, electrical, sliding, guiding, wear, or solidification function. Those duties are not interchangeable. A water-cooled furnace part, a wheel-and-belt crystallization wheel, a drawing-defined casting component, and a rolling-line bushing require different geometry, material, interfaces, manufacturing routes, and acceptance plans.
Process and Component Routing
Melting and holding equipment may be stationary or tilting and may use fuel-fired, electric-resistance, induction, circulation, or other buyer-defined arrangements. Copper components are reviewed by their exact furnace position and are not assumed to contact molten aluminum or to be water-cooled without an approved equipment drawing.
Casting scope may involve direct chill (DC) billet or slab casting, wheel-and-belt continuous casting, moving-mold strip casting, twin-roll casting, or another proprietary route. The mold or roll material and cooling method must be confirmed. For example, some DC mold systems use precision-machined aluminum bodies, while a confirmed CCR wheel-and-belt line may use a copper-alloy crystallization wheel.
Rolling equipment may include hot, cold, foil, reversing, tandem, finishing, or integrated cast-and-roll configurations. Winworth's relevant scope is limited to drawing-defined copper-alloy bushings, sleeves, rings, wear parts, guides, cooling parts, conductive parts, or other machined components. It does not imply supply of work rolls, backup rolls, mill stands, drives, automation, or complete lines.
Engineering and Quality Review
Provide the aluminum alloy and product route, equipment type and maker, model when available, process position, component function, drawing revision, exact supply boundary, copper or copper-alloy specification, thermal and mechanical conditions, cooling or lubrication circuits, mating interfaces, tolerances, surface requirements, maintenance method, and replacement history.
Inspection may include material verification, dimensions and datums, cooling-passage mapping, joints and closures, specified NDT, pressure or leakage testing, circuit separation, fit, surface condition, hardness or conductivity testing when ordered, and document review. The buyer's approved drawing and acceptance procedure control the final plan.
RFQ Information
Provide the line and component drawings, process route, aluminum alloy, ordered part name and position, material grade and condition, dimensions, loads, temperatures, cooling or lubrication data, connections, mating parts, tolerances, surface treatment, NDT and test procedure, quantity, records, packaging, lifting, destination, and requested delivery schedule.
