Application Scope and System Boundary
Winworth manufactures drawing-based copper and copper-alloy components for selected positions in ferroalloy furnace electrode systems. The application page provides the complete column context needed to quote an individual contact shoe, pressure ring, bus connection, cable, clamp, cooling part, or machined assembly.
An electrode column may include an upper assembly for electrode movement and slipping, regulation cylinders, clamps, paste heating or feeding equipment, a mantle, and controls. The lower assembly may include a frame tube, heat shield, pressure ring, bellows, contact shoes, bus tubes, cooling pipes, insulation, and supports. Exact architecture and terminology remain equipment-specific.
Winworth does not claim supply of the full electrode column, hydraulic power pack, slipping device, regulation system, PLC, furnace automation, paste system, structural mantle, or safety control unless those items are explicitly included in an approved order.
Contact, Pressure, Movement, and Cooling Interfaces
Provide the electrode type and section, upper and lower column arrangement, shoe number and segmentation, contact-face profile, pressure ring and bellows relationship, specified contact action, movement and slipping stroke, regulation envelope, bus-tube or cable connections, cooling supply and return, insulation boundaries, frame and support interfaces, seals, fasteners, instrumentation, lifting, removal, and maintenance access.
The pressure ring and contact shoe remain separate product identities. The pressure ring transfers the specified clamping action; the contact shoe provides the conductive interface. The water-cooled cable or bus tube connects the current path but does not replace either component. Product selection must follow the complete assembly drawing rather than a single worn-part photograph.
Material, Manufacturing, and Inspection
Copper grade and condition, forged, rolled, cast, machined, drilled, formed, fabricated, welded, brazed, or assembled construction, joining procedures, heat treatment, surface and contact preparation, cleaning, marking, and records follow the approved design. Conductivity, hardness, strength, pressure, cooling, and wear requirements must state the test method and acceptance criteria.
Inspection may include material verification, contact-face and ring geometry, segment match, dimensions and datums, bore and hole pattern, alignment, cooling-passage mapping, joints and closures, NDT, pressure or leakage testing, circuit separation, conductivity or hardness when ordered, insulation, trial fit or assembly, and document review.
No contact resistance, current capacity, clamping force, slipping accuracy, electrode regulation, electrical efficiency, furnace stability, maintenance interval, or service life is inferred from a component alone.

Provide furnace and electrode-system maker, process, AC or DC arrangement, electrode type and layout, full column and ordered-component drawings, exact supply boundary, buyer-supplied electrical and mechanical inputs, contact and pressure arrangement, cooling and insulation details, interfaces, tolerances, inspection and tests, quantity, records, packaging, lifting, and destination.
