Project Basis

An anonymized vacuum-melting equipment customer required a large water-cooled copper crucible manufactured to a controlled drawing and documentation package. The recorded challenge combined a large copper section, cooling geometry, sealing and mounting interfaces, machining datums, wall control, dimensional alignment, and export handling.

The source record does not identify the exact furnace process. The case therefore does not relabel the component as a VAR crucible, ESR mold, EB withdrawal mold, crystallizer, or cold hearth. Final product identity must follow the approved equipment drawing and function.

Drawing and Manufacturing Review

A material certificate identifies the supplied material against its stated scope. It does not by itself prove finished-wall geometry, internal cleanliness, pressure integrity, dimensional alignment, or service performance.

Inspection and Documentation

The final acceptance package was aligned with the approved drawing and purchase specification.

  • Dimensions, interfaces, datums, and specified wall characteristics were recorded at the agreed stage.
  • Material and manufacturing traceability remained linked to the component.
  • Any specified surface, volumetric, pressure, leak, cleanliness, or other examination required its own method, boundary, stage, acceptance criteria, and report.
  • Deviations, concessions, repairs, and buyer approvals remained visible in the final record.

The source record supports dimensional inspection and documentation; it does not establish that every possible NDT or pressure test was performed. Tests must not be added to the public case unless supported by the project record.

Export Protection and Recorded Outcome

Sensitive machined and sealing faces, connections, openings, and internal cleanliness received dedicated protection. The package considered lifting, marking, orientation, destination handling, and document handoff.

The recorded outcome was delivery against the approved drawing and documentation basis. This case does not claim a furnace performance increase, vacuum level, melt quality, pressure rating, service life, or customer approval beyond the recorded acceptance package.
